Joey Gertin

Joey Gertin is a dance artist based in New York City. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Joey completed his training at Elite Danceworx under the direction of Dawn Rappitt. Currently studying in his final year at The Juilliard School under the direction of Alicia Graf Mak, Joey will receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts in the spring of 2024. Through his time at school, Joey has performed works by Ohad Naharin, Rena Butler, Aszure Barton, Jamar Roberts, and Medhi Walerski. In June 2022, he attended Springboard Danse Montréal, where he worked with Victor Quijada and Ethan Colangelo. In the Fall of 2022, Joey was selected to collaborate with a composer and create an original piece of choreography on three dancers for Juilliard’s Choreographers and Composers program. Joey's hunger to create and be led by generous, curious artists continues to grow tremendously. After graduation, Joey will be embarking on his professional career at the world reknowned Nederlands Dans Theater 2 for the 2024/25 season.
